Sturdy and comfortable!
I just received mine and ran through a pretty intensive squat training session. They fit pretty snug (I ordered a half size up from my running shoe size) and they felt amazing. My feet are on the wider size and I come from an older pair of Nike Roms. I definitely prefer the way these fit with the extra toe room/width.

Comfortable fit and feel
The extra room in the toe box is great; the sole is extremely grippy; the height of the heel is ideal for squats and Olympic lifts; and the shoe is light and flexible enough to use in metcons where you are squatting and aren’t moving around a ton.

Look good, comfortable, not durable.
Really like the aesthetics of these and the wider toebox helps for folks with wide feet, and as a lifting shoe they feel stable enough. Unfortunately after less than six months of use in training they're falling apart - most cloth/velcro bits are separating at the seams but worse than that is that the sole and heel are breaking apart. I'm definitely going to be looking for something more durable.

Upgrading from Romaleos 3
I’ve been using a pair of Romaleos 3’s for the last 6 years, pretty much mainly for squatting. They have held up really well and have been great in every way except one, they squish my toes together quite a bit. I wondered if it might be a size issue as they are an 11.5 and I usually wear 12’s but the insole measures 29.5cm’s which is pretty much the perfect length for my feet. As I’ve been transitioning into barefoot shoes and enjoying the freedom my feet have in my Xero Prio Neo’s, the Romaleos have felt even tighter so I went looking for a wide toe box alternative. This led me to only 2 options as far as I could find, these TYR L-1’s and the Sabo weightlift and powerlift shoes. The Sabo’s are about half the price and seem to be well liked in the powerlifting community but the design of these L-1’s in black with the white outline on the logo made it a pretty easy decision. While the Sabo’s are likely a great value, they unfortunately also look like a knock off shoe you’d buy just to save some money and I wanted something I’d really like wearing since I probably won’t buy another pair this decade lol. Well, granted they’ll last that long. Anyways, they came in yesterday and the materials look and feel pretty high quality, it seems to be an improvement to the plastic uppers of the Romaleos. After putting them on, the heel height is just about the same as the Romaleos but up front my forefoot can really breathe and more effectively plant itself into the ground, so I think it’s a worthy upgrade. Looking at the size guide these definitely run small. Compared to my Prio Neo’s over a whole size small and compared to my Romaleos just under a size and a half. I’d recommend looking at the CM size (also can be listed at the JP size) of a shoe you feel comfortable in then find the closest size to that in the listed size chart above. I got the 13’s as that has a 29.7cm insole and luckily, they’re just about perfect.

Wayyy too tight -- not wide at all!!
I got these shoes because they're supposed to be wide barefoot shoes for lifting. But even when I got a full size up from my normal size, it was still crushing my pinky toe. Maybe because these are unisex, so if you're a man they're way too tight? If you're gonna make a barefoot shoe, do it right. I'm so disappointed, there really is nothing in the market that has a wide toe box for a lifting shoe. Tyr's competitor's, take note: If you make a truly wide toe box shoe, you will own this market segment.
