Complete coverage of Event 8 from the Men’s and Women’s Individual competitions at the 2022 Rogue Invitational in Round Rock, TX. Held on Sunday, October 30, “Snatch and Press” featured 3 rounds of the following:
20 DB Snatch (100 LB men / 70LB women)
9 Parallette Handstand Push-Ups (4”/2” deficit)

This event proved to be a shake-up for the leaderboard at the beginning of the competition’s final day, as Laura Horvath’s ongoing struggles with the PHSPU portion of the event opened the door for other women to gain ground, including contenders Annie Thorisdottir and Emma Lawson, as well as dark horses Emma McQuaid and Dani Speegle. Similarly on the men’s side, Justin Medeiros’s slight struggles in this one shifted the spotlight to athletes like Jayson Hopper and Chandlers Smith, the latter of whom followed his big win in Event 7 with another strong showing here.

Rogue Record Breakers – 56lbs Weight Over Bar – 11:15 AM

Full coverage of the Rogue Record Breakers challenges from the 2022 Rogue Invitational, held at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas. This year, all three RRB events delivered on their promise, as many of the biggest names from the world of Strongman not only took their shots at new WRs, but shattered them in stunning fashion.

Highlights include the return of the Mountain, Hafthor Bjornsson, looking to beat his own record in the 56LB Weight Over Bar (while wearing Dr. Terry Todd’s kilt); two different men making history in the Dinnie Stone Hold; and Kevin Faires taking on the “impossible” with a 325LB lift of Thor’s Hammer.

11 Goblet Squats (88LB men / 62LB women)

With the leaderboards continuing to tighten on both the men’s and women’s side, and Event 10 still a mystery, contenders like Patrick Vellner, Jeffrey Adler, and Emma Lawson took the opportunity to pour all they had into this workout . . . with substantial gains to be had for all of them.

Legends Event 3 – 2:30PM

For the final time on the weekend, 16 of the top men and women from throughout the sport’s history paired off into 8 teams. This time, the workout consisted of 6 rounds (“I Go, You Go”) of the following:

12 Deadlift (155 LB men / 105LB women)
9 Hang Power Cleans (155 / 105)
6 Push Jerk (155 / 105)

Individual Event 10 – Heavy Grace – 3:40 PM

Complete coverage of Event 10 from the Men’s and Women’s Individual competitions at the 2022 Rogue Invitational in Round Rock, TX. As the closing workout of the weekend, the mysterious Event 10 was finally revealed to be “Heavy Grace,” a challenge that was simple on the surface but very complex in action. The athletes had to complete 30 Clean & Jerks (225LB men / 165LB women) as quickly as possible, but the real strategy was in pacing one’s self vs. pushing to the finish.

On the women’s side, the final leaderboard was far from a foregone conclusion, but Laura Horvath rebounded from a tough start to the day by showing the form that helped her dominate much of the weekend. The question was, would Annie Thorisdottir and Emma Lawson hold on to their podium spots? For the men, Justin Medeiros needed a strong effort to defend his title; a few reps and a few seconds would make all the difference for those chasing him, including Pat Vellner, Chandler Smith, and Jeffrey Adler.
