Strongman Event 4 – Rogue-A-Coaster Pull – 9 AM

Complete stream of Event 4 from the Strongman competition at the 2022 Rogue Invitational in Round Rock, Texas. The Rogue-A-Coaster Pull (which began at 9AM on Day 2) is a rough way to start any morning: a 54” incline rope pull of 600 LBS worth of sandbags with a tight 90-second time cap.

Both Pavlo Nakonechnyy and Oleksii Novikov made impressively quick work of this challenge, but the Dragon, Martins Licis, was waiting in the wings, ready for his moment to strike and move up the leaderboard.

Individual Event 5 – The Turtle – 10:05 AM

Full stream of Event 5 from the Men’s and Women’s Individual competitions at the 2022 Rogue Invitational in Round Rock, TX. Held on Saturday, October 29, “The Turtle” started off Day 3 for the CrossFitters with a wide-ranging workout in the following sequence:

In this timed event, just 3 seconds separated the top four finishers on the men’s side (Kwant, Vellner, Haapalainen, and Adler), while the women’s heats saw two of the sport’s best,, Annie Thorisdottir and Laura Horvath, battling for the event win.

Legends Event 2 – 11:30 AM

Full stream of Event 2 from the CrossFit Legends Division at the 2022 Rogue Invitational, held at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, TX (Saturday, October 29, 2022). 17 of the top men and women from throughout the sport’s history paired off into 8 teams (including one team of 3) to complete the following relay:

The teams of longtime Rogue athletes Matt Chan and Jason Khalipa, as well as Kari Pearce and Margaux Alvarez, were among the standouts in this one.

Individual Event 6 – The Duel II – 12:40 PM

Complete coverage of Event 6 from the Men’s and Women’s Individual competitions at the 2022 Rogue Invitational in Round Rock, TX. Held on Saturday, October 29, “The Duel II” was an elimination-style, multi-round event leading to a showdown between the two top performers in each division. The following gauntlet was repeated in each round:
1 Legless Rope Climb
10 Overhead Squat (135/95)
Sandbag Carry to Finish (200/150)

With athletes racing to the finish line and often diving over their 200LB / 150LB sandbags to do so, there was plenty of drama down the stretch in these head-to-head heats. Justin Medeiros sought to create some breathing room atop the leaderboard on the men’s side, while Laura Horvath looked to make it an incredible 4 straight event wins and continue her dominant weekend.

Strongman Event 5 – Yoke Carry, Overhead Log Lift Medley – 3:10 PM

Complete stream of Event 5 from the Strongman competition at the 2022 Rogue Invitational in Round Rock, Texas. The Yoke Carry + Overhead Log Lift Medley was a returning event from last year’s Invitational, and challenged the athletes to complete two challenges measured for time (with a 2:30 cap):
First Up: a 50-foot Yoke Carry at 1,000 LBS
Next: Complete 3 Overhead Lifts of a 360LB Log

Fans made their predictions, but this one did not go as most would have anticipated. While overall leaders Novikov, Mitchell, and Licis held their ground, the event proved to be a showcase for some of the other men in the field, including Bobby Thompson and the Canadians Maxime Boudreault and Mitchell Hooper.

Complete coverage of Event 7 from the Men’s and Women’s Individual competitions at the 2022 Rogue Invitational in Round Rock, TX. The final event of Saturday, “Texas Oak,” brought a classic implement of Strongman over to the CrossFit ranks, as both the men and women tackled the log lift at escalating weights.

This unique challenge opened the door for Roman Khrennikov to potentially leapfrog Justin Medeiros into first place, but Chandler Smith had every intention of stealing the spotlight for himself by day’s end. On the women’s side, Laura Horvath was right on track to make it an incredible 5 straight event wins, until Dani Speegle made the Texas Oak her breakout moment of the weekend.

Strongman Event 6 – Stones Over Hitching Post – 8:45 PM

Complete stream of the sixth and final event from the Strongman competition at the 2022 Rogue Invitational in Round Rock, Texas. Stone Over Hitching Post was the final and deciding event last year, as Martins Licis edged out Oleksii Novikov for the title. This year, the same event again stood as Novikov’s final obstacle to becoming Rogue Invitational Strongman champion. Could the Ukrainian get it done in the face of new challenges from Texan Trey Mitchell and Canadian Mitchell Hooper?
