For Rogue athlete and two-time “Fittest Woman on Earth” Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir, reaching her ultimate goal was as much about mental determination as physical ability. By the age of 20, the native of Reykjavik, Iceland, had already made two promising appearances at the CrossFit Games. In 2014, however, she narrowly missed qualifying for the event after a sixth place finish in the Europe Regional. Turning that disappointment into motivation, Katrin took her training to another level in 2015, and arrived back at the CrossFit Games with a new confidence to match. She would proceed to hold her own against fierce competition all weekend, finally vaulting herself to the top of the podium with a first place finish in the very last event of the Games—Pedal to the Metal 2.
In 2016, she left any doubt behind as to her place atop the sport, successfully defending her crown and joining her countrywoman Annie Thorisdottir as a repeat women’s champion. Friendly rivalries with Thorisdottir and current “Fittest Woman on Earth” Tia-Clair Toomey have only helped to inspire Katrin to train harder in the years since, leading to four more Top 5 finishes at the Games, including her 2nd place finish at the 2020 Finals in Aromas. By any measure, she stands among the all-time greats to compete at CrossFit's highest level.
Davidsdottir was a successful track-and-field athlete and trained for 10 years as a gymnast before entering the CrossFit world in 2011 at the age of 18. She currently makes her home in Natick, Massachusetts.
In 2018, Rogue introduced the exclusive Davidsdottir Edition of the Cerakote Bella Bar, featuring Katrin’s official “Sled Dog” logo.
