Andy Stumpf

“What you allow in your presence is your standard.” That quote from 17-year veteran Navy SEAL Andy Stumpf is one of the first things you see when you enter Rogue’s HQ in Columbus; printed on the wall as a guiding company motto. Stumpf is a good role model for just about anybody interested in dedicating themselves to hard work, both for service to country and self betterment.

A life-long Californian, Stumpf joined the Navy at just 17 and became a member of the legendary SEAL Team 6 in 2002. During a mission in Iraq, he was shot in the leg at close range by a combatant with an AK-47, putting his military career in serious jeopardy. Doctors put his recovery time table at 3 years, but after Andy was introduced to CrossFit during his rehab process, he found a type of training ideally suited to his no-excuses mentality, and was back in just six months.

Since his retirement, Stumpf has remained as driven as ever, taking on extreme sports challenges (including skydiving, base jumping, and wingsuit flying), appearing as a public speaker and television host, and raising millions for military charities in the process. These accomplishments join his numerous decorations as a SEAL, including five Bronze Star Medals (four with Valor), the Purple Heart, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Valor, three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, two Combat Action Ribbons, and the Presidential Unit Citation.
