RX Drag Rope

The latest Drag Rope from Rx Smart Gear puts a new spin on the concept of “high speed, low drag.” With no swivel, bearing, or any other modern speed enhancer, the Rx Drag Jump Rope gives athletes a unique challenge by handing them more of a classic, old school jump roping experience.

Available here in black with three convenient size options to choose from, the Drag Rope features a set of textured grip handles and a woven polypropylene rope with a very high drag coefficient. Compared to turning over a wire speed cable, athletes will need to dig much deeper into their energy reserves with this rope due to the constant air resistance.

Size Options:

  • Small - For height ranges 4'8" to 5'2" (8'0" Rope Length)
  • Medium - For height ranges 5'3" to 5'8" (8'6" Rope Length)
  • Large - For height ranges 5'9" to 6'2" (9'0" Rope Length)

  • Polypropylene Woven Jump Rope
  • Ergonomic Grip-Friendly Handles
  • No Swivel, No Bearing, Strong Resistance
  • Three Size Options
  • Color: Black

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Large rope review solid jump rope, no complaints, I've used it during the Covid-19 pandemic to stay in shape. Highly recommend. I like to do a 30 min EMOM with it for a quick cardio workout.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Different type of workout These allow for a completely different feeling when working out. If you have never used them you are in for a treat. They can be hard to get the hang of because it requires more shoulder use. You have to get the correct size or you will struggle. Proper length is a must.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the rope part but not the handle I bought this rope for more single jumps and cross over type stuff. My speed hurts pretty bad if you mess up. The rope portion is amazing quality. The handles don’t have any spinning parts in them so it does make it feel real stiff. It’s a lot more effort in each rotation. Just not what I was looking for. I’ll stick with my rogue speed rope for the most part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome rope New to DUs and was having issues with tracking/timing constantly (RPM speed rope) so could barely put together 3-8 in a row. Decided to take a step back and give this drag rope a shot and it's exactly what I needed. Able to track the rope and hone in on the timing where I can now put together 15+ in a row (takes a bit more energy but def. worth it). Quality of the rope/handles has been great and the blue one was perfect for me (6ft tall). Waiting for the small to come back in stock to purchase one for my wife (she's also new to DUs). Awesome stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great way to mix it up! I bought this a month or so ago and use with a lot of my personal training clients to mix it up. It is nice to have some variation in things and this def is different than your normal cable or vinyl rope. I like it because of the difficulty it adds and forces you to pay a bit more attention to such a basic exercise. I would not say the rope is heavy, but it creates drag which slows it down. Without bearings in the handle and the slower speed by default it is a challenge for even singles at first. Double Unders are a whole new ball game and really require some effort and umpff. Only knock is the L still seems a little shorter than my preference. I am 6 ft and prefer a longer rope, especially for doubles. But I highly recommend for someone looking for a way to mix up your jumping.
