Rogue RML-490 Power Rack

Starting with the same Westside-inspired design as the popular Rogue R-4 Power Rack, the RML-490 utilizes 3x3” 11-Gauge Steel uprights—making it among the strongest and sturdiest power racks in the industry. Built in Columbus, Ohio, this highly customizable Monster Lite rack is equipped to serve professional strength training facilities, collegiate weight rooms, military training bases, and small garage gyms, alike.

The RML-490 includes Westside hole spacing, 0.625" hardware, and a set each of Monster Lite J-cups, pin/pipe safeties, and band pegs. Both a 43” Fat/Skinny Pull-Up and 43” Single Skinny Pull-Up Bar also come standard.

With just a 53" x 53" standard footprint, the RML-490 Power Rack is a compact unit well suited to custom additions. Popular accessories include the Monster Lite Matador, Monster Lite Safety Spotter Arms, and Long Plate Storage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bomb Proof and as Advertised When I finally decided to build my home gym, I went with what I know and went with Rogue. I figured if these racks could hold up to the abuse I watched people lay on them in crossfit and powerlifting gyms, I would be just fine. I elected for the RML-490 because (a) I didn't want to have to bolt it down; and (b) I didn't want to feel claustrophobic lifting inside it. Lite vs. Monster was perfect for me, and I like that any accessories I purchase for the ML are a bit cheaper but still as overbuilt as you would expect for Rogue. Rack arrived in perfect condition and was easy to set up. It's solid. I replaced the pin/pipe safeties with straps, which I love. I also added the spotter arms, which I use off the front of the rack while benching (my set up is wide so I don't like benching inside the rack). I also switched out the j-cups for the sandwich cups. They're great, but sometimes I wish they had a roller or something when I'm trying to centre the bar. Rogue racks are expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall, great product You definitely want to have your own socket wrench to assemble vs using the provided tools. It’ll save a lot of time. The rack itself is great, and the available attachments are awesome. So far, I have 2 plate storage pins, chain hanger, land mine, and the spud high/low pulley set. That make it the most versatile and important piece for a garage/basement gym.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly What I Needed I bought this 3 weeks ago and it shipped promptly and quickly (had all items within 4 business days). It was easy put together (I would suggest having a second person to help). It is a very strong unit and has met all my needs for all the various exercises that I'm using it for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4 month review Purchased this rack at the start of 2019 after planning the garage gym for about a year. Looked at a lot but couldn’t be happier I decided on this one. Pros: Plenty of room to squat/bench inside the rack. Extremely sturdy. Plate storage doesn’t interfere with lifts. Looks badass. It can handle any lift you can. Doesn’t take up an obnoxious amount of room. Very easy to assemble (did it alone). Weights don’t hit Jcups when racking/reracking. Cons:..... I’ll let you know if I find one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Half of the Monster Shmedium I mean, I could reiterate basically why everyone else is saying, but it’s downright the best there is to be had. It can handle anything I can throw at it. Even added the trolley arms just to be sure. Paint is about the only thing, chips up kinda easier than I expected. Still, not disappointed. I have both this rack and the RML390F. This rack is a bit deeper than the 390 obviously. This is also a bolt down, which I highly recommend doing unless you don’t lift heavy or often. If you don’t, then something smaller might be a better fit and more cost effective. I noticed that the bases for each leg still had a tendency to scoot a bit without much effort during assembly so I chose to go this route with both racks. Lots of options with this rack in terms of accessories to customize your workouts. Though the two racks heights differ, I was still able to add crossmembers (also sold by rogue, separately) between the two racks to setup a pulley system I use with the rogue loading pin. This adds a metric butt-ton of exercises I can do plus increases stability for both. I’d definitely recommend the 490
