Product Description

The Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar is fully machined and assembled in Columbus, OH, using 200K PSI tensile strength steel. Approved for competition by the International Powerlifting Federation, this 29MM diameter bar includes single powerlifting knurl marks and a center knurl, with the same deep, coarse (but not overly sharp) knurl pattern as our 45LB Ohio Power Bar. The 20KG bar does have a greater loadable sleeve length than the 45LB bar (16.875” vs. 16.25”). This is a result of the slightly smaller width of the collars.

Rogue 20 KG Ohio Power Bar - Stainless Steel

One of the key factors that sets the 20KG Ohio Power Bar apart from other powerlifting barbells in the industry is its friction welded sleeves. A technique borrowed from the worlds of aviation and automotive manufacturing, the friction welding process creates a precision, forged-quality bond, resulting in superior strength and fatigue resistance, as well as a finer grain structure on the welded joint.

The 20KG Rogue Ohio Power Bar includes bronze bushings, a snap ring design, and a Stainless Steel shaft with Chrome sleeves.

Note on Stainless Steel: Barbells made from raw steel are not plated and therefore marks from the machining process may be visible.

Aggressive Knurl

The bar includes single powerlifting marks and a center knurl, each featuring a deep, coarse pattern that produces a reliable grip / stick without being sharp or abrasive. Two Finish Options

The 20KG version of the Ohio Power Bar is available in your choice of two quality finishes. The Black Zinc option (black shaft, bright sleeves) provides excellent corrosion resistance, while the new Stainless Steel variation (with Chrome sleeves) creates the look and natural feel of bare steel with less upkeep required.

F SCALE™

The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.

OXIDATION RATE

The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Best power bar with perfect knurl
Absolutely excellent power bar for classical power lifting, including high-volume training. I was initially hesitant whether it would be good to get a competition bar, being afraid that the courser knurl would be too rough on the hands. However, the knurl is perfectly balanced to give a solid and reassuring grip around the bar, but without the feeling of having "sandblasted" the inside of your hands.

Great bar but chipped
I like the bar but was kind of bummed out the ends chipped within a week despite using the rogue bumper plates and not doing anything crazy.

My First Power Bar
I got this pretty recently, but I’ve only used low quality bars before this. The stainless steel is nice, and 29mm feels especially nice on squat, coming from 28mm. Overall it seems pretty good, but looking closely, the knurl on mine isn’t quite as nice as I had hoped for, in some areas it’s visually clear that the volcano dip is off center on the peaks and it’s definitely sharper than I expected, very uncomfortable, but I don’t need chalk. Maybe I’ll get used to it and it won’t be so bad in the future.

Love it!
I always wanted a stainless steel bar. I already had an Ohio bar, black zinc, but the coating is all worn out in the middle, mostly from squatting, so now I keep the Ohio bar for olympic lifting, and the Ohio Power bar for powerlifting, since the former is rated F8-R, whereas the latter is rated as F2.

Even better than expected
After wanting a good bar for years I finally pulled the trigger on this bar and the difference is even bigger than I thought it would be. I already have a cheap 32mm no-name bar and a good, but worn down bar from a reputable brand (it is 50 years old, so about time for an upgrade) I wanted a powerbar and I wanted something stainless as I lift in a damp garage. The first thing that struck me was how good the knurling was! It hits a goldilocks zone that is sharp and sticky while not being painful. I have always thought people that wrote about not needing chalk anymore was exaggerating, but I have only used chalk once after I got it and it didn't really do anything. The second thing I Noticed is that this bar is a lot more tactile, it is hard to explain, but it is really easy to feel what is going on when I lift. Things like pulling the slack out of the bar in deadlifts made a lot more sense with this bar.

#noregrets…..
Ah man.. This bar just feels awesome in your hands and on your back. It’s hard to put into proper context but it’s just what moving weight is all about. The stainless steel is awesome. Save up and treat yourself for bday, Christmas, anniversary… whatever. Just get it and feel good. Nothing else to say.
