Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar - Stainless Sleel

The Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar is fully machined and assembled in Columbus, OH, using 200K PSI tensile strength steel. Approved for competition by the International Powerlifting Federation, this 29MM diameter bar includes single powerlifting knurl marks and a center knurl, with the same deep, coarse (but not overly sharp) knurl pattern as our 45LB Ohio Power Bar. The 20KG bar does have a greater loadable sleeve length than the 45LB bar (16.875” vs. 16.25”). This is a result of the slightly smaller width of the collars.

One of the key factors that sets the 20KG Ohio Power Bar apart from other powerlifting barbells in the industry is its friction welded sleeves. A technique borrowed from the worlds of aviation and automotive manufacturing, the friction welding process creates a precision, forged-quality bond, resulting in superior strength and fatigue resistance, as well as a finer grain structure on the welded joint.

The 20KG Rogue Ohio Power Bar includes bronze bushings, a snap ring design, and a Stainless Steel shaft with Chrome sleeves.

Note on Stainless Steel: Barbells made from raw steel are not plated and therefore marks from the machining process may be visible.

Key Features of the Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar

  • 1200,000 PSI Steel (200,000 PSI for Stainless)

The Ohio Power Bar’s 29MM diameter steel shaft boasts a tensile strength of 200,000 PSI, delivering superior rigidity and virtually zero whip/flex. Machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, the bar also features a snap-ring design and quality bronze bushings for a smooth, consistent feel. IPF approved for competition.

  • 2Aggressive Knurl

The bar includes single powerlifting marks and a center knurl, each featuring a deep, coarse pattern that produces a reliable grip / stick without being sharp or abrasive. Perfecting this knurl pattern is both a science and an art. Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus on new Haas machines (built in the USA) and fine-tuned and personally tested by the Rogue team.

  • 3Friction Welded Sleeves

A technique borrowed from the worlds of aviation and automotive manufacturing, the friction welding process creates a precision, forged-quality bond, resulting in superior strength and fatigue resistance, as well as a finer grain structure on the welded joint.

  • 4Use It With These Other Rogue Products

Ohio Power Bar owners can use this barbell in conjunction with a broad range of other top caliber Rogue powerlifting products, from the Westside Bench and R-3 Power Rack to deadlift bar jacks, Wagon Wheel plates, and Calibrated Steel Plates.

  • 5Two Finish Options

The 20KG version of the Ohio Power Bar is available in your choice of two quality finishes. The Black Zinc option (black shaft, bright sleeves) provides excellent corrosion resistance, while the new Stainless Steel variation (with Chrome sleeves) creates the look and natural feel of bare steel with less upkeep required.

F Scale™
The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.

Oxidation Rate
The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bar I ever used Great barbell, knurling is perfect, sharp but not too sharp. Also for some reason it makes less noise then my other barbells during deadlifts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only power bar you'll ever need I used a couple power bars in the gym but this stainless steel barbell beats all of them by far. The grip is in my opinion very aggresive which is awesome. I rarely use chalk for if and when I do use chalk(only for deadlifts) I use very little since the knurling and grip is so good, my hands get too dry from the chalk and the aggresive knurling starts to tear off my caluses. Moderation is key for me when using chalk with this barbell: I won't need alot, ever. I got the stainless steel shaft and chrome sleeves, 0 rust accumulated so far and I've had it for 4+ months in a room that sometimes get very hot and humid. I don't have an a/c in that room(my other barbell made of iron started rusting after only 1 month). Very durable barbell to rust and it probably will be for years if I maintain it properly. Another plus: this barbell looks super good. The only power bar I'll ever need, nothing else is even close if I compare it to the other barbells I've used in public gyms over the years. I'm sure this barbell will last easily for 30-40+ years. Amazing quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted, with one small limitation I was honestly a little scared to get this barbell given how much the aggressive knurl has been talked up and figured that it was something that I would use more down the road when I was lifting heavier. I was pleasantly surprised to find that, while the knurl is significantly more aggressive than my Ohio bar, the volcano shape and lack of sharp points keep it from actually cutting into my hands. That also goes for the center knurl, which is cut exactly the same as the rest of the bar. I didn't find it uncomfortable squatting high bar with a shirt on, but it could be an issue for others. While it's not my go-to bar for pressing motions, I found that it was far more comfortable in those lifts than I had expected and served me well through a whole body session. The one limitation is the narrow collars on the sleeves. This has the upside of giving more space on the sleeves, which can be a big plus if you're lifting heavy and using wider bumper plates. But it also means that you have to be more careful about your bar path if you're using a wider rack. Overall I'm really happy with this bar and look forward to doing bigger lifts with it in the future.
