Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar - Black Zinc

The Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar is fully machined and assembled in Columbus, OH, using 205K PSI tensile strength steel. Approved for competition by the International Powerlifting Federation, this 29MM diameter bar includes single powerlifting knurl marks and a center knurl, with the same deep, coarse (but not overly sharp) knurl pattern as our 45LB Ohio Power Bar. The  bar does have a greater loadable sleeve length than the 45LB bar (16.875” vs. 16.25”). This is a result of the slightly smaller width of the collars.

The 20KG Rogue Ohio Power Bar includes bronze bushings, a snap ring design, and a Black Zinc shaft with Bright Zinc sleeve finish.

One of the key factors that sets the Ohio Power Bar apart from other powerlifting barbells in the industry is its friction welded sleeves. A technique borrowed from the worlds of aviation and automotive manufacturing, the friction welding process creates a precision, forged-quality bond, resulting in superior strength and fatigue resistance, as well as a finer grain structure on the welded joint.

Key Features of the Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar

205,000 PSI Steel
1

205,000 PSI Steel

The Ohio Power Bar’s 29MM diameter steel shaft boasts a tensile strength of 205,000 PSI, delivering superior rigidity and virtually zero whip/flex. Machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, the bar also features a snap-ring design and quality bronze bushings for a smooth, consistent feel. IPF approved for competition.

Aggressive Knurl
2

Aggressive Knurl

The bar includes single powerlifting marks and a center knurl, each featuring a deep, coarse pattern that produces a reliable grip / stick without being sharp or abrasive. Perfecting this knurl pattern is both a science and an art. Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus on new Haas machines (built in the USA) and fine-tuned and personally tested by the Rogue team.

Friction Welded Sleeves

Friction Welded Sleeves

A technique borrowed from the worlds of aviation and automotive manufacturing, the friction welding process creates a precision, forged-quality bond, resulting in superior strength and fatigue resistance, as well as a finer grain structure on the welded joint.

Two Finish Options

Two Finish Options

The 20KG version of the Ohio Power Bar is available in your choice of two quality finishes. The Zinc option (black shaft, bright sleeves) provides excellent corrosion resistance, while the new Stainless Steel variation (with Chrome sleeves) creates the look and natural feel of bare steel with less upkeep required.

F SCALE™

The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.

OXIDATION RATE

The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Great barbell. Just wish the sleeves were smooth.
It's an excellent barbell. Lifting on it is a joy. I just wish the sleeves weren't grooved. I knew upfront they would be (thanks to reading reviews, I don't think it says it anywhere in the article description) but I didn't realize how much it would bother me. The noise of adding and removing plates is extremely unpleasant and the grooves don't add anything useful.

Lovely barbell and best for the price
I bought this just over a month ago and have had much better training sessions because of it. My squats feel much tighter and stable. The only issue I would have is that the spacing between the shaft and the plates is very thin and when benching and form breaks down the plates tend to hit my rack.

great bar, knurl is tough
Pros: 1) needed it shipped to a place in NJ that ships over here to Ukraine while I'm stationed here. Super fast shipping/processing. 2) Bar is LOVELY. Nicer than expected. Cons: 1) knurl - not gonna lie, its abrasive. In IPF you cant use gloves, so its bare hands and lemme tell ya - this bar hurts a bit when benching 175kg. BUT ==== I'll take a slightly more aggressive knurl like this and know it adds to more years of usage than a less aggressive knurl that wears out after a year or 2.

Great stiff bar and comfortable knurl
Been using this for 2 months, great bar for all the compound lifts. Only thing that took time to get used to with my monster lite rack is the walk in and out of squats, the thin collar gap makes it easy to hit the rack. Took some practice on walk outs to get used to

Great bar - fast delivery
I ordered the bar on Tuesday. It was delivered on Thursday. That´s only two days later and it came from Belgium! I´d say this is fast and I´m very satisfied. The package was solid and UPS did a good job. The Ohio Power Bar seems to be of very good quality so far - it has a very nice grip that is sharp but doesn´t feel sharp (that´s the best way I could describe it) The build quality is perfect. So far it is the best bar i´ve ever owned and I don´t think (and hope) that I will ever need another bar ever.

DO NOT BUY IT IF YOU ARE IN EUROPE
I had the poor judgment of buying a Ohio power bar (having used one in my gym for years) without previously reading the reviews about their customer service. I ordered one 9 days ago. As I was away for Christmas I was advised by a solicitous member of their team to hold off the purchase until I got back, as I was concerned that it would be delivered before I got back and there was nowhere for the courier to leave it in my absence. I got in touch with them thinking well, if they have supply issues they'll tell me to buy it anyway because it might take a while to arrive anyway. But no, the guy tells me to wait until I get back. So I got back and I put in an order. I read on their website dispatch times for the UK were two business days. So I thought-how great, just a couple of days. After a couple of days the order keeps showing up as 'preparing'. So I emailed to ask how long I should be prepared to wait. I got a standard email talking in very general terms about a shipping delay. I wrote back asking for an estimate for the shipping delay. I mean, you would, wouldn't you? You pay top dollar for something, you wanna have an idea. I got the same exact response back. I wrote back asking for a little clarification. I got the same response back. And again, and again. No matter what I asked, I kept on getting the same email back. Essentially -anyone reading this- once they have your money, be prepared to be treated like a non-person, like you're not even worth the tiny effort required over copying and pasting a pre-written, general purpose email. The shipping delay isn't even the issue. It's how they treat you. I have never encountered this kind of behaviour before. THEY TRULY COULD NOT CARE LESS. THEY DO NOT EVEN PRETEND TO. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy from this company. Their barbells are fantastic-if you're after those, look for a second hand one. As for the rest, weights are weights, racks are racks, so are kettle bells, etc. You'll likely get them cheaper from other suppliers, and most likely faster too. Why would you want to give your money to an organisation like this? Never again. The only positive from my experience is that I was going to buy a rack from them, but I was in no rush since I have a pair of squat stands, and because I knew it would have taken me 2-3 weeks to get my strength back up to a four plate squat after the Christmas break, thus not needing safeties, I thought 'I'll put in that order next week'. That laziness was very fortuitous. If I could give them zero stars, I would.
