Protect your shins

Rope climbs, dead lifts, cleans and snatches can be hard on your shins (so hard that some athletes develop staph infections). Built with UV protective 5mm of hi-tech neoprene and breathable 10-24 Lycra, Rock Guards protect and serve. They’re light-weight and slightly compressive, yet offer the ultimate in protection.

Rock Guards are great for:

  • Rope climbs
  • Dead-lifts
  • Cleans and snatches
  • Box Jumps

New Features:

  • Impact resistive 5MM Neoprene fronts fused to a compressive lycra sleeve.
  • Back zip makes them easy to get on.
  • Foot stirrup and silicone grips keep them in place

Sizing Chart

  • If your calves are < 38CM in circumference at the widest point and your height is 155CM (5') or less and therefore the length of your leg (tibial tuberosity to the ankle bone is generally 30cm or less) use the small size.
  • If your calves are < 38CM in circumference at the widest point use the medium size.
  • If your calves are > 38CM in circumference at the widest point use the large / extra large size

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not great for deadlifting I bought these to protect my shins while deadlifting. I use a shoulder width stance, so my shins make contact with the knurling on my power bar. After only 4 deadlifting sessions the first layer of the shin guards has a hole in it. The inside part of the padding is rubber, which is now exposed, increasing friction during the lift. The guards are very comfortable and breathable, so I'm sure they are great for other things. I would not recommend these if you need them to deadlift.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock Guards are essential! I have been using my rock guards for approximately 3-4 weeks now. It was only this past week that was doing my last set box jumps (homemade plywood box - no padding ) and my legs somewhat gave out towards the last few jumps and I landed on the corner of the box on my shin. It hurt nonetheless - but it saved my shin and skin from some major hurt. I ma grateful for having had them on...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for deadlifts I have used these in 3 deadlift sessions now using a regular Rogue Ohio deadlift bar. The gnurling has torn right through to my leg. I'm going to have to wear my socks over these in the hope that they last a little longer. These were not made for serious deadlifts, very disappointed. A warning should be included about their abysmal durability.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Won't take a beating - Deadlifters beware! I have used these for only two full deadlifting sessions now. We have good gnurling on our bars and it has torn through the top layer of neoprene already. I'm waiting to see if it chews through the bulk of the neoprene as well. I'm not even lifting big weights here... we're talking 425 and under. That being said, it is protecting my shins for now. But if you have a real deadlift bar, then these will wear down very quickly.
