Protect your shins

Rope climbs, dead lifts, cleans and snatches can be hard on your shins (so hard that some athletes develop staph infections). Built with UV protective 5mm of hi-tech neoprene and breathable 10-24 Lycra, Rock Guards protect and serve. They’re light-weight and slightly compressive, yet offer the ultimate in protection.

Rock Guards are great for:

  • Rope climbs
  • Dead-lifts
  • Cleans and snatches
  • Box Jumps

New Features:

  • Impact resistive 5MM Neoprene fronts fused to a compressive lycra sleeve.
  • Back zip makes them easy to get on.
  • Foot stirrup and silicone grips keep them in place

Sizing Chart

  • If your calves are < 38CM in circumference at the widest point and your height is 155CM (5') or less and therefore the length of your leg (tibial tuberosity to the ankle bone is generally 30cm or less) use the small size.
  • If your calves are < 38CM in circumference at the widest point use the medium size.
  • If your calves are > 38CM in circumference at the widest point use the large / extra large size

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product. I’m 5’10”, 200 lbs and measure about 40cm so that puts me in between large and medium. I went with the medium and am happy that I did. The zipper is useless, I just leave mine open.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protection I needed These are great at protecting my legs during rope climbs. Previously, I would get serious rope burns across my shin. These have completely eliminated the problem. As a side note, please make sure you take the time to measure to get the correct size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from As good as can be expected. Mesh back helps shins not got too overheated and sweaty, and neoprene front effectively protects the shins from even aggressive gnurling. Zipper on the side doesn't really close while being worn because I don't have toddler ankles, but don't feel like that affects it much. Does add a bit of friction resistance, so baby powder with big lifts will help. Going down, I feel the bar can catch a little on the tops, and they obviously don't protect the knees. Overall I'm happy and use them regularly and would recommend. Don't have unrealistic expectations and you'll be golden. They're high quality, but might not be for everyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for rope climbs This worked great for rope climbs. Was able to climb more quickly since I wasn’t afraid of burning my leg.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what they used to be. This new version of rock guards is not as durable as previous models. The material on the back of the calf is thin and I don’t expect it to last long on rope climbs which is why I purchased them. Additionally they added a worthless zipper that won’t stay closed by the ankle. Adding a metal fastener at the ankle which can cause it to dig into your flesh on wrapped rope climbs. I wouldn’t recommend these any longer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable protection These sock guards are comfortable protection for your shins when deadlifting. They offer good compression as well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Large NOT XL I bought these under the impression that they'd fit L/XL as the listing states. However, the tag on the inside states Large. These are soooo tight at the top and generally overall they're cutting off circulation. I have wide calfs. 17" at the widest point and I'm short in height. They need an actual XL size. Other than that they do seem nice and many other people at the box wear them, but I'll have to just give to my husband.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not great for deadlifting I bought these to protect my shins while deadlifting. I use a shoulder width stance, so my shins make contact with the knurling on my power bar. After only 4 deadlifting sessions the first layer of the shin guards has a hole in it. The inside part of the padding is rubber, which is now exposed, increasing friction during the lift. The guards are very comfortable and breathable, so I'm sure they are great for other things. I would not recommend these if you need them to deadlift.
