Donnie Thompson Casual Bowtie

Developed by powerlifting legend Donnie Thompson and Spud Inc., the Casual Bowtie is a simple accessory for everyday life, helping to counteract the slouched posture that often develops when working at a computer, driving, or using a cell phone. Made from a softer material than the Thompson Formal Bowtie, this design is optimized for wearing over long periods of time as you go about your day. The webbing harness is light and comfortable and doesn’t encumber movement. It works by subtly encouraging sustained upright posture, easing tension on the muscles behind the shoulders and also applying light compression to the bicep tendons.

By wearing the Casual Bowtie on a regular basis, the user can create a sense of muscle memory, as the brain will start instructing better posture long after the bowtie is removed. This can have a huge impact on reducing the problems of shoulder pain and tight pecs, and limiting the risk of more serious injuries down the road.

The Donnie Thompson Casual Bowtie is available in a range of sizes (see chart below). You can also track your package each step of the way using the Rogue Shipping Tracker.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too tie-ght! There is no give in the material - it is very rigid and 'digs' in .... very uncomfortable. Couldn't wear for a minute let a lone long enough to gain any benefit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works and fits as intended! I bought a medium according to the fitment guide and it fits well. I have slightly larger arms and shoulders so it gives me a little extra pressure under those areas but if I train my shoulders up and back, it relieves those areas and helps my posture. I'd recommend this for anyone who has to sit for long hours and finds themselves slouching. Just wear for about an hour at a time per day and you'll start seeing changes after about a week or two.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money Don't size up like everyone tells you to. They definitely fit true to size. I'm 6'1" and 240lbs and I went with a 2XL which did pretty much nothing. Replaced it and went down to an XL and this thing is absolutely excruciating, it DIGS into your armpits, cuts off the circulation to your arms and is not comfortable to wear for more than 20 mins at a time. Save your money.. and just remind yourself not to slump.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing better After almost a year of usage, my shoulders are the best they’ve been in a long time. Lifting is back to when I was in my twenties. For those who have issues with chaffing, circulation, hard to put on, and being uncomfortable, stick with it. I believe those are all part of the rugged design and your shoulders being so bad. I don’t workout without it, and probably never will.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Casual Bowtie I got the Donnie Thompson Casual Bowtie because I injured my shoulder while lifting. It took awhile to get comfortable with wearing it. The Bowtie is great at helping maintain alignment and reducing shoulder irritation. The workouts are going well and it allows me to do more chest movements without shoulder pain or further injury. But really irritated my underarms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better posture Bought it a few weeks ago, found it so much easier to maintain a better posture after taking it off for 10 minutes. Reminds to pull back the shoulder blades and keeps me stable on bench press

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Design Should work in theory, but poor design. I ordered the medium (even though the size chart showed I would be a small), because I noticed in the demo video how difficult it was to pull over your head. The medium was still hard to get on, and it kept riding up and cutting into my arms and armpits. Had to take it off 15 minutes into my workout. Waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good for your back I spent most of my time working in front of a computer so it is hard to get the right posture. This helped me to keep my back straight. I use it 10 hs a day probably. I bought the size L and I am about 190 pounds.
