Mateusz Kieliszkowski
Coming from a country with a storied Strongman tradition, Mateusz Kieliszkowski has made it clear that he is the new face of strength in Poland. And the world may soon be next.
Kieliszkowski was born in the small town of Maszewo, Poland, in 1993. At 6’5” and 325 LBS, he had the size to compete from a young age, but he still raised plenty of eyebrows reaching the podium at the Arnold Strongman Classic at just 22; the youngest competitor in the event’s history. A dominating run as Poland’s Strongest Man elevated his reputation, and by 2017, Mateusz was on everyone’s radar, winning the plane-pull event at the WSM; setting a world record in the CYR Dumbbell (Overhead Press, 141.5 KG / 312 LBS) at the Arnold; and finishing in first place at Arnold Strongman Africa.
In 2018, Kieliszkowski continued to draw comparisons to his legendary countryman, Mariusz Pudzianowski, as he overcame injuries to finish 2nd at the World’s Strongest Man (behind only The Mountain). He also kept shattering records, inspiring awe with a record 410 LB Stone-to-Shoulder lift at the Arnold in Columbus, followed up with a 330 LB Circus Dumbbell lift at Summer Mania.
While there are better known and more experienced names on the international Strongman circuit, it’s an open secret that Kieliszkowski is the one to watch in 2019 and beyond.
