Cole's Favorite Gear
One of CrossFit’s most formidable rising stars, Cole Sager honed his competitive edge on the gridiron, playing four years at the University of Washington as a running back and special teams player. When his football days were finally behind him in 2013, Sager needed a new type of athletic challenge. A friend suggested he try his hand at CrossFit, and the rest was history.
After qualifying for his first Regionals within months of entering the sport, Cole started moving up the ranks as he honed his craft. He finished 17th at his first CrossFit Games in 2014, improved to 7th place the next summer, and reached a career best No. 5 finish in 2016, highlighted by a best overall time in The Separator event.
Widely regarded for his high character and positive attitude within the CrossFit community, Cole was awarded the “Spirit of the Games” honor in 2017, showing the level of respect he commands from his fellow athletes. That honor aside, Cole’s competitive nature will have him eyeing an improvement on his No. 17 finish at the ‘17 Games, as he gears up for the summer of 2018 looking to take the next leap.
